I’m back from OHM 2013! I’ve spent a whole incredible, astounding, fantastic, mindblowing week with incredible, astounding, fantastic, mind-blowing hackers from all around the world! Love and miss you all <3
Being at a Camp is a mind-blowing experience and every two years being able to meet with all you from around the world is the most anticipated event. I want to thank you all for your smiles, for your words, for just being there and make me feel that I’m not alone! It was awesome!
Observe. Hack. Make. or OHM in short was an outdoor hacker conference that took place in the Netherlands from July 31 to August 4, 2013.
This conference was the most recent event in a sequence that began with the Galactic Hacker Party in 1989, followed by Hacking at the End of the Universe in 1993, Hacking In Progress in 1997, Hackers At Large in 2001 What the Hack in 2005, and Hacking at Random in 2009. The tradition continues in Summer 2017 with Still Hacking Anywayhttps://sha2017.org/
With 3000 tickets sold the camp was completely sold out weeks before the camp started. With 700 more tickets compared to the last camp is this the biggest Dutch hacker camp yet.
One of the highlights of this event was a live video connection with Julian Assange. After his appearance at Hacking at Random in 2009 the organizers invited Julian Assange again. This time he spoke to the audience over a live video connection from the Ecuador embassy in London.
